We love history. So why not make a cross over between amazingly detailed characters, deep storylines and possibly the most iconic period in the history of the Western world?
This collection of historical fiction might focus on one period of the Americas, but there is true diversity here. Your imagination can be sparked with tales of cross-country travelling, romances and action. A truly amazing genre where it was difficult to pick the best of the best!
#1 Angels Love Tragedies by Arlen James
Would you listen to the angel that tells you that in order to be forgiven for your sin, you must burn down the demon-infested hotel where you work? Would you walk into the mouth of a giant three-headed snake in hopes of escaping Tartarus and travelling to a brighter future after being tried and executed as a witch? These are just some of the questions even you may have to face in the end.

#4 Somewhere Beyond Manhattan by Terry F. Fields
The novel, written by Terry F. Fields, puts an interesting spin on the legendary purchase of Manahatta–the island that we know as Manhattan or today’s New York City, in which the indigenous Leni Lenape Indians were swindled by the Dutch to relinquish their land for $24 in trinkets and beads. Instead, Fields tells a story in which a band of the Lenape were given a hidden parcel on which they could remain, somewhere, hidden in plain sight among the skyscrapers of New York.
Fields intertwines the history of early America, incorporating little known facts about how the Lenape actually assisted in the early formation and colonization of America, giving colonists food and safe haven during the American revolution. The early American history is well researched and covers not only the political aspects but also gives an in depth look at some of the geographical differences of the day as well as the ecosystems including flora and fauna that flourished during those times.

#5 Saving Washington by Chris Formant
The battle was a suicide mission, but pivotal to American history as it allowed George Washington time to escape and ultimately win the war for our freedom. Unfortunately, this extraordinary moment in time is often overlooked.
