It may be a little different to traditional investing books, but this could be the difference between a rushed, thoughtless reaction and a well-timed, logical decision. John Coates, a neuroscientist and former Wall Street trader, takes a very unique approach by examining the physiological responses that happen when we invest our money. He explains how the chemical responses to financial activity can influence our decision making and often lead to bad choices. Being able to recognise and read your bodies physiological reactions to market movements will make you a less emotional and far better investor. You can have all the economic and financial understanding in the world, but if you can’t control your emotions, you’re bound to lose.
This is by far my favorite book for anyone looking to learn how to start investing. The strategy he sets out is simple, low-cost and has been proven over time to be a consistently successful way for people to build wealth. While there are some minor aspects of the book that are targeted at US-based readers, these parts can easily be skipped over if they don’t apply to you. As you’ll see, the rest of the content is more than enough to show you just how to invest for a secure financial future.

Let’s be honest. Most investment and finance books are hard to read, and they are meant to be so. But not this little book that’s become an absolute classic within the investment circles. Joel Greenblatt’s approach to investment is as simple as simple can be. You buy on the low, then sell high. That’s the golden rule for any investment opportunity. Does the formula work? Absolutely yes, but not all the time. While this may be a short read on how to invest, it comes with worthy lessons that should be enough to help anyone beat the market. As if in disguise, the book doesn’t really provide a single , magic formula, as if often said. Instead, it provides different things that all coalesce into an amalgamation of things that have led to success in the investment world. In every sense, this book provides a sincere view of the finance world, while providing guiding beacons on how one can make good their investment and succeed in beating the market.
The writing style was very condescending, and her recommendation for anyone with debt is to go read her first book. Her first book doesn’t really have advice that can’t be found online for free. Also, both this and the first book in the series are aimed at younger and more privileged millennials. If you’re at the older end of the millennial cohort, or struggling to make ends meet, these books are not written for you. In fact, the author talks down to you.
This is the book I would recommend to someone who is new to real estate investing. This book gives you a thorough overview of numerous various areas of investing, as well as some of the general rules of thumb that apply to each. There are also real-life instances of people who have successfully implemented the tactics presented. After reading this, you won’t be an expert, but you’ll know what you need to know, and the entire process of becoming an investor will become less overwhelming.

Though first published in 1949, the teachings of Benjamin Graham’s The Intelligent Investor are still influential today. The book centers around his well-known value investing strategy or the practice of buying stocks for prices less than their value—in other words, stocks that are currently undervalued by the market. The Intelligent Investor shows readers how to make money in the stock market without taking massive risks while tackling the emotional aspect of investing. This updated version includes commentary and footnotes by financial journalist Jason Zweig, which adds a touch of modernity.
The stock market can be very confusing, especially for beginners. Hence, before starting your journey in investing in stocks, make sure to read this book. It shows the factual and emotional side of investing in stocks. The best thing about this book is that it features a step-by-step procedure in evaluating your financial health, setting financial goals, and funding your first stock purchase. It also teaches the readers what to look for in a balance sheet, income statements, and annual reports so you can decide where best to invest your money.
The reason I recommend The Secrets of Value Investing You Need to Know is that it is an easy-to-understand book. You can learn how to invest from the book because it contains most of the best concepts. The book is well-written for those who wish to learn about investing. I would highly recommend it to all learners at all levels.
Manual of Ideas is the best book on investments that I have read. It’s especially good for beginners as the book discusses a different investment technique in each chapter, discussing 9 different investment strategies along with an introduction chapter. Warren Buffet has said, Investing is not a game where the guy with the 160 IQ beats the guy with the 130 IQ and this is true when reading about investing as well. The strategies people employ aren’t rocket science but often involve a lot of hard work. A book like Manual of Ideas succeeds because you can get an enough taste of many different strategies to implement them yourself, and you don’t need to read 200 pages on one strategy to be able to start successfully executing it. Additionally the companion site to the book run by John is a great place to source ideas and read more about investing.
If you have always wanted to learn more about the stock market and how to make investments, then you should read this book. It is the perfect beginner’s guide on how to build on your wealth. This book makes things really simple and provides you with all the knowledge that you need to get started.

A remarkable book about some of the most remarkable investors of our time. Green spent decades interviewing these investors and wrote a brilliant book that summarizes their lives’ philosophies. Despite the significant differences in their investment approaches, most of these investors share similar insights on life and how they think. They all have some simple principles that they stick to and never go astray of, until they achieve their goals.

This book is, a fantastic resource for beginners. Even yet, it is instructive and thrilling for individuals who are familiar with options trading. It explains everything about the stock market, including how to profit from it. It covers topics like common investor mistakes and how to avoid them, where to open a brokerage account, buy your first stock, and even make passive income in the stock market.
This well-written book discusses Vanguard Group founder John Bogle’s approach to passive investing and offers sound, practical advice for entry-level investors. It’s a straightforward guide for everyone who wants to learn the basics of investing, and the best thing is it doesn’t require any prior financial knowledge. The book has helpful explanations of key investment concepts and covers many topics, including behavioral economics, insurance, modern portfolio theory, and tips on financial planning. It’s an excellent book for anyone starting in investment and a fantastic resource for those who need a refresher or reminder.
It’s one of the easiest books I’ve seen that addresses chart patterns and formations. Even though its title would lead you to believe it’s only aimed at crypto currencies, this isn’t the case as the technical chart patterns which work in investing can be applied to all markets.
If you are more of a Real Estate type kind of guy, then go for this book. Written by Brandon Turner, it will give all the relevant tools and info you need to start on how to find deals, how to finance them, etc.
Ok, the title is rather bullish, but there’s truth to it. If you are after another source of investments like funds and the likes, this book, written by Larry E. Swedroe and Jared Kizer, is the right for you.

The growth stocks investors should get in here! This book was published for the first time in 1960, and it has since then sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. The autobiography by Nicholas Darvas describes how he made his fortune on Wall Street. The main character is a dancer who made millions in stocks. The story tells about what kind of stocks he bought, how he researched them when he bought them, and at all times why did he do this or that step. The author shows us the entire stock market game from an unusual perspective- through the eyes of a dancer who knew nothing about it before making money with it! The book is still popular today – even after 50 years – because its contents are very valuable. The lessons can be applied to current financial market conditions. The book is full of practical advice on how to make money with the stock market. The story is written in a light, easy-to-read style. The author managed to keep the attention of readers from beginning to end. The book tells about his successes and failures throughout his victories and losses, making it even more interesting!
