The Original Jeeps in Pictures by Paul R. Bruno

This product was recommended by Steve Turner from Solomon Turner PR

I am working with a great author, Paul Bruno, and would recommend his three books for any automotive engineer or anyone interested in the topic. Project Management In History: The First Jeep; The Original Jeeps; and The Original Jeeps in Pictures by Paul Bruno. Paul has written these books on how three companies, Bantam, Ford and Willys-Overland battled to get the original contract to design and build the first Jeep for use by the US Government in World War II. It details the military’s plan to replace the mule as the key transport for troops and weaponry across rough terrain, and deals with the key government and military officials involved in the decision making. The goal is the engineering of how the Army needed this transportation to fight the German Blitzkrieg. All are highly researched and full of photos, renderings, diagrams, direct quotes, timelines and more. It is a highly informative read for any historian, automotive engineer, Jeep fan, or World War II enthusiast. The third one, The Original Jeeps in Pictures, is more of a graphic journey of how the Jeep was created. What is truly amazing is American Bantam Car, a small bankrupt automotive manufacturer based in Butler, Pennsylvania, won the contract over Willys-Overland and Ford. Then they had to create the first Jeep in just 49 days. Anyone who knows anything about engineering and manufacturing realizes it took a real production miracle to get that done.-Paul Bruno

Being a tech enthusiast both professional and personally I cannot recommend this book enough. It tells the unique story of the Tesla engineering story, from the work Elon did to the super impressive engineering feats and work to get the electric car to where it is today. A fascinating insight into the inner workings of Tesla and the engineering feats accomplished.

The best sequel ever created. If you have an interest in classic cars or are lucky enough to own a few retro automobiles this book was written for you! The manufacturing of cars have changed so much over the decades and this book will show to tweak with your classic cars, so you dont apply new techniques to old relics. How Cars Work by Tom Newton

This product was recommended by Alex Mastin from Homegrounds

Billions of people drive cars every day but bar topping up the oil, gas and windscreen fluid almost everybody has no clue on what goes on beneath the hood. This book changes that! For a first foray into cars and engineering this book offers the perfect start. It is readable for children and adults alike. Not going to deep in explanations to confuse anyone but enough to both pique the average persons interest and more importantly keep it. After finishing this book I was surprised of how many I now know, more then 99% of the World, that’s for sure. And all for the price of $30 and a few hours of my time 🙂
