For me, it’s Elementary Linear Algebra, by Howard Anton and Anton Kaul. This is the one textbook I’ve found on the subject that I found myself referring to on a regular basis, reading through concepts, theorems and proofs in order to better my understanding. And it really did do wonders. The content is very neatly organized, presented in engaging ways, and I love the short sections detailing the background of the mathematicians behind the theorems in the book. The practice exercises for each chapter are very valuable too, and actively solving them always helped me retain what I learned.

There are a lot of great books out there on linear algebra, but one that really stands out is Introduction to Linear Algebra by Gilbert Strang. This book does an excellent job of explaining the concepts in a way that is both clear and concise. In addition, the book includes a variety of worked examples and exercises that help to reinforce the material. The biggest strength of this book, however, is its focus on applications. Linear algebra is a hugely important tool for solving mathematical problems, and this book does a great job of showing how it can be used in a variety of settings. If you’re looking for a book that will teach you linear algebra in a way that is both accessible and practical, then Introduction to Linear Algebra by Gilbert Strang is definitely worth checking out.

There’s a lot of information available in the book that is built up step-by-step and I found almost all of the proofs to be mostly very clear, provided of course that you’ve already been exposed to the basics and can deal with the tenseness of the book. It has a good mix of theory and computation. It has many exercises, and they help in the learning process. So highly recommended.
