#4 Modern Guitar Method Grade 1 by Mel Bay

Modern Guitar Method Grade 1 by Mel Bay
I guess I am a little more old school on this topic. I believe that if a beginner student goes through at least Grade 1, along with supplemental material such as learning modern songs, he/she will have a solid start in learning the guitar.

The Mel Bay method system is a challenging method compared to other methods in my opinion. With 15 years of teaching experience, I found that the student got a more thorough instruction this way. It teaches music reading, chords, rhythm, and duet playing which progressively gets more challenging as the student works their way through the book. I have recommended it to all of my beginning students.
